Meet our newest teammate, Kevin Barlow!
We are so excited to welcome Kevin Barlow back to 20/20 Visual Media! Kevin was our Production Intern back in 2017. After graduating from college, he spent the first 7 years of his career in Los Angeles, working on some of the most recognizable realty TV shows in America.
Kevin has joined 20/20 as our newest staff Producer. We asked him a few questions so our clients and partners can get to know him better, and learn what he will bring to our productions.
Tell us about your background. Before joining 20/20 Visual Media, what other jobs have you had?
Upon graduating Temple University in 2018, I immediately moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television. I found most of my opportunities in the reality television world where I worked on some amazing shows like The Voice, The Real Housewives, RuPaul's Drag Race and so many more. I specialized in logistics as most of my recent roles were as a Production Manager. During my time in these roles, I fell in love with the creative and planning process of making content from start to finish.
In your specific role on the team, what will you be doing?
I'll be working as a Producer for 20/20 and will be responsible for working with our clients and making their ideas a reality. I'll work on projects from development/pre-production to handing off the final product. This process will involve the initial development of the idea, the creation and coordination of that idea physically on set and managing of the post-production process.
What excites you about working for the 20/20 Visual Media team?
I was lucky enough to work with the 20/20 team as an intern back in 2017, and that experience is one I've always spoken so highly of. Rob and Patrick are incredible human beings and true professionals in their craft who helped set the foundation for my career. After leaving Los Angeles, I wanted to find a production company in Philly where I could continue my passion of creating and do so in an environment that supported me. Accepting the position at 20/20 Visual Media was the easiest choice I could've made.
How do you feel 20/20 Visual Media will be good for you in both your personal and professional goals?
Although I loved my roles in reality television and the chaos that is Hollywood, I craved the opportunity to grow as a well-rounded Producer. The roles in larger Hollywood productions are very departmentalized and it's hard to grow in more than one department. At 20/20, I'll have the opportunity to be a part of all aspects of the creative process and hone my abilities in so many different skill sets.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
I love living a super active lifestyle and I can usually be found lifting weights in a majority of my free time when I'm not pretending to be a golfer. I'm also a born and bred Philly sports fanatic who has way too much Philly sports knowledge stored in his brain. (Go Birds! 🦅)
